St. Dominic Village is a non-profit corporation established by the Catholic Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston. Our facility provides services to over 600 residents a year.

St. Dominic Village is a member of the Texas Medical Center. We are located on a beautiful campus conveniently located off of Holcombe Blvd near Interstate 288. We are located near the Metro bus line and provide free, on-campus parking to all employees.

POSITIONS AVAILABLE AT ST. DOMINIC VILLAGE




Human Resources Director

This position is responsible for handling all HR functions within the organization. The HR Director will be the liaison with the HR Committee of the organization's Board of Directors.

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor degree and a minimum 5-years' experience in HR Director function.
  • PHR or SPHR Certification
  • Solid business knowledge and understanding of financial impacts of all decisions.

Fund Development Director

The Fund Development Director is responsible for leading the organizational fundraising efforts with the CEO and Board of Directors. The Fund Development Director leads the CEO in developing, overseeing and implementing the fund development business plan. Responsibilities include major gift solicitation, grant writing, special events coordination, direct mail appeals and actively participates in public relations activities.

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree with 5-years experience in fund development
  • Proven track record of successful fund development working with diverse communities, foundations, boards, and individuals
  • Demonstrates strong written and oral communication skills, including public speaking
  • Strong financial, analytical and planning skills
  • Experience in formulating long-range plans and executing them successfully
  • Strong administrative skills including experience in grant writing
  • Excellent project management skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Familiarity with DonorPerfect preferred

Receptionist - PRN

St Dominic Village Receptionists are responsible for answering phones and directing calls. In addition, they may perform clerical duties and are responsible for provide a safe environment for residents while maintaining the switchboard in a professional manner as well as greet and welcome visitors and family members. This is a PRN position and will work as needed.

Education/Experience
Candidates should possess the following:

  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent and at least two (2) years' experience in nursing or retirement home or similar experience
  • Ability to communicate with all people
  • Must present oneself in a professional manner with a friendly attitude and voice when greeting the public
  • Must be sensitive to residents' limitations and needs
  • Must be computer literate and proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook

Controller

St. Dominic Village is currently seeking a Controller. The Controller is responsible for the general accounting functions including recurring monthly accruals, journal entries, payroll, trial balance, and reporting.

Education/Experience
Candidates should possess the following:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting from a four (4) year college or university and have five (5) years related experience.
    Experience in a non-profit preferred.
  • Must have knowledge of personal computer general ledger applications.

Education Coordinator

The Education Coordinator is responsible for planning, scheduling and coordinating monthly in-services for all facility staff as well as facilitating orientation for staff.

Education/Experience:

  • Be certified as a LVN in the state of Texas
  • Previous education experience preferred
  • Strong clinical knowledge of long-term care settings
  • Strong computer skills essential - Outlook, Excel, scheduling software, electronic medical records
  • Critical thinking and problem solving skills are a must
  • Must be able to work flexible hours to meet the needs of a 24-hour staff
  • Must have good communication skills
  • Must possess good organizational and time management skills
  • Must be able to interact on a professional basis with staff
  • Must willingly demonstrate the ability to work in a team orientated environment
  • Must demonstrate initiative - be a self-starter with job duties assigned

CNA

St Dominic Village is currently seeking Full-time and PRN Certified Nurse Assistants in our nursing home and Assisted Living. CNAs Assist licensed nurses in providing care by performing the necessary nursing skills to ensure that residents' needs are met and they maintain the highest level of functioning.

Education/Experience:

  • Certified by the State of Texas in a nurses aide training.
  • Experience in long term care a plus.

LVN

The LVN is responsible for the daily nursing care of the residents on the unit including administration of medications and treatments, receiving and transcribing physician orders, monitoring CNA activity and care of the residents on a daily basis and communicating effectively to staff, residents, families, physicians and all members of the interdisciplinary team. We currently have openings for PT and PRN LVNs.

Education/Experience:

  • Be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing for LVNs and possess a current license for the State of Texas.
  • At least 6 months experience as a LVN in a long-term care setting.

CMA

St Dominic Village is currently seeking PRN Certified Medication Aide in both our nursing home and assisted living facilities. CMAs ensure residents receive the appropriate medication as ordered.

Education/Experience:

  • Certified by the State of Texas in medication administration.
  • Must be able to demonstrate ability to accurately pass medication.
  • Experience in long term care a plus.

Weekend Supervisor - RN

St. Dominic Village is currently seeking a weekend Supervisor for the Nursing Home to work every other weekend. As in-house supervisor for week-ends, this position is responsible for supervising all nursing staff as well as ancillary staff as needed. The weekend supervisor is also responsible for administrative decision making process for facility on week-ends and acts as a liaison between staff, families, residents and physicians.

Education/Experience:

  • Be a graduate of an accredited school of Nursing (RN)
  • Maintain current licensure in the State of Texas with 3-5 years' experience and have basic knowledge of staffing patterns
  • Must demonstrate competence in communication skills and have the ability to relate to diverse constituency and act independently to solve problems
  • Must be available for an eight (8) hour shift as well as 24 hour call every week-end
