St. Dominic Village Independent Living facilities include 125
rooms and suites for seniors who can live independently but who
no longer wish to live alone. These rooms are unfurnished allowing
those moving in to bring their belongings with them so they can
make their new home as warm and inviting as the one they left.
People living in the independent facilities are able to take
care of their day-to-day needs, including bathing, dressing,
grooming, eating and taking medications. Independent residents
have the freedom to come and go on the property without restrictions
and may have automobiles if desired.
Residents enjoy three hot meals a day, seven days a week and
are able to participate in a full range of activities, both
on and off campus, planned by the Life Enrichment Coordinator.
With
the assistance of retired priests, Catholic residents gain
spiritual nourishment from daily Mass, regular celebration of
the sacraments,
seasonal services and daily rosary. Spiritual enrichment programs
are available to residents of all faiths. Other amenities at
no charge include all utilities, satellite TV, weekly housekeeping
services, use of laundry facilities, library and
computer
lab with e-mail and internet access. Residents also have access
to the Sterling-Turner Wellness
and Fitness Center. Services
provided
for a fee include private phone line, beauty/barber shop,
gift
shop and transportation to and from medical appointments.
